TV Reduta is a TV channel that focuses on urban news and updates. It was established on 16 November 2001, when BIC Spišská Nová Ves, s.r.o. obtained a license for cable broadcasting from the Slovak Broadcasting and Retransmission Council.
During its existence, TV Reduta gradually expanded. It started broadcasting terrestrially, analogue from its own transmitter on the 26th UHF channel from 9 July 2003. This move enabled the television to reach a larger audience and strengthened its position on the market.
In 2012, from 1 June, TV Reduta was granted a licence to broadcast a programme with a limit of 2500 characters. This licence allows it to provide comprehensive news and information in the form of short but in-depth reports. TV Reduta strives to bring viewers up-to-date news and events not only from the local environment, but also from all over Slovakia.
